Municipality Water Intake and Distribution Systems
MDS has experience with all aspects of municipality water intake and distribution systems. We have completed numerous projects involving sediment and debris removal, intake screen fabrication and installation, removal and replacement of intake gate valves to improve water flow and flow control.
Hydro-electric Intake And Plant Maintenance
We have years of experience in hydro-electric intake and plant maintenance. Hydro plants need constant maintenance on their debris protection screens, hydraulic lines and concrete structures.
Full Service Fabrication Shop
MDS has a full service fabrication shop. We have fabricated intake screens, steel concrete forms, pumps screens and mounting beams for underwater intake pumps.
The personnel at MDS have also been deeply involved in the long distance fiber-optic industry since the middle 1980’s. Starting out completing the river crossings for companies like MCI and Sprint, our expertise soon expanded to installing all the hardware and steel conduit needed to cross over bridges and railroad trestles so the fiber-optic cable could continue in one piece. Completing those bridge attachments required complying with all safety and attachment regulations governed by CSX, Norfolk-Southern and Conrail railroads and the DOT’s from Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Indiana, and Illinois. MDS has joint-ventured on fiber-optic projects with industry leaders like Michel's Mid-America Line and Cable performing directional boring, trenching, underground fiber cable placement, and bridge attachments.
The fabrication personnel at MDS have always supplied the attachment hardware for our bridge work. All of this hardware has to pass DOT, Railroad or Department of Highways inspection along with a letter of approval from a testing group like United Laboratories (UL approved).
